Mice Control Melbourne

Mice can be persistent little pests because they are incredibly adaptable and multiply quickly. They will find a way into your home to eat your food, gnaw at your cables, and spread unwanted diseases, making prompt mice control essential. Mice are seeking shelter and food, especially during the winter months, to make a home, find food sources and continue their very fertile breeding program!

These fast little rodents are active at night, so it is important to know what to look for to identify infestations. Our expert technicians will try to quickly identify the most likely nest location. It is important to get expert advice for effective eradication, as mice have a highly developed sense of smell and can often identify chemicals in food, warning them of over the counter domestic baits.

A professional pest control service to remove mice from your property will mean you can rest assured that the mice will be gone for good, without concern that there may be more hiding under the floorboards or in your roof space.

We use environmentally friendly pest treatments, using human-safe, pet-safe and humane processes to remove mice from your home. All our work comes with a warranty providing all recommended proofing measures have taken place.

Did you know?

Did you know that one mouse will almost always lead to an infestation within weeks if they are not eradicated immediately? Mice start breeding at 6 weeks old and can become pregnant again within 2-3 days of giving birth, producing a litter of up to 10 pups every 21 days. These little rodents will use your home as a reproduction facility – happy days for mice!

Let our qualified team remove mice from your property

Our qualified and experienced technicians carry out mice control and removal services throughout Melbourne and surrounding suburbs. With extensive experience, we locate the access points, and identify the extent of the mouse infestation and will recommend the right solution for you on the day. Mice are active at night with a highly developed sense of smell. They sniff out the chemicals in domestic baits and will cleverly avoid baits making them difficult to eliminate.

Mice removal treatment includes:

Identification of the rodent with recommended actions
Baiting the roof void and subfloor area with professional treatments
The use of mouse lockable tamper proof boxes if necessary
Professional analysis, treatment and a report to eradicate the mice and proofing measure recommendations to prevent them from returning.

A small investment for a large return – your peace of mind.

Signs of a mouse infestation

Mice are quite elusive, so don’t expect to see them running around in your house. They wait until you’re not there!

Look for activity indications including animal tracks, gnaw marks, and droppings. Tracks are easier to find in dusty locations, so if your house is quite clean, but you suspect rodents are present you can try laying down talcum powder in and around areas of concern to help detect footprints.

Their five-toed footprints are more visible in an attic or crawl area beneath the home. Rodent droppings resemble black tiny pellets. Gnaw marks will emerge on wooden doors and joists at ground level, reaching out an inch or more.

Here are 3 typical signs of an ant infestation in your home or office.

  • Droppings – Mouse droppings are small, dark, and pellet-shaped, and you’ll find them where you least want them – near food sources, in drawers, in the pantry and cupboards. The darker they are, the fresher they are.
  • Gnaw marks or holes – Mice constantly gnaw on various materials, including wood, wires, and plastic, to keep their teeth sharp. If you notice chewed food packaging, marks on furniture, or small holes in your walls, this could be mice.
  • Nests – Mice breed very quickly and before you know it you could have families of them running around. They like to build nests out of shredded paper, fabric, sticks and leaves, or other soft materials in hidden and dark corners.

How to prevent mice

Here are four effective ways to discourage mice from entering your home:

  1. Close off potential entry points – inspect your home and office for gaps or cracks around doors, windows, vents and seal these off as mice can squeeze through tiny gaps.
  2. Store food in airtight containers – and clean up crumbs and any other food (including pet food) that may be lying around and enticing to mice.
  3. Maintain a clean environment – clean your home and office regularly and free of rubbish and other items that may be decluttering the space which will enjoy hiding behind to make their nests.
  4. Trim vegetation – trim back tree branches, bushes and creepers as mice will use overgrown vegetation as a pathway to your home or office. Keep firewood and compost piles away from the house as well.

Common Types of Mice

House mouse (Mus musculus)
This is the most common mouse species in Australia. House mice are small, with grey or brown fur, and are often found in homes, farms, and businesses. They are highly adaptable and can thrive in various environments.

Field mouse (Apodemus Sylvaticus)
There are several species of native Australian field mice, but they are less common than the house mouse. You’ll find these mice in rural areas. They are usually more shy and less likely to invade homes.

The service was held in professional way. I wasn't though asked and I didn't give any permission for the pictures taken from my place and see those pictures at a later stage on the inspection report. I do understand that the technician use these as a proof that he conducted the place and did the inspection finally but it should get my permission first.

Well, I will probably echo what several other customers have said but since the minute we established communication, Pest Police have been great when looking after our rodent issues. Communication with Lily was very easy and accessible but thorough. Steven is a very knowledgable and experienced professional and the type of guy who loves his job and explains the dos and don'ts in simple words. I highly recommend Pest Police and actually, will call them back for more at any time. Cheers! 2 years already.....well, PP are now the 'go to' for our yearly pest checkups and recently helped me out with a Wasp problem. Same communication level and results, great service of course.
